La Hacienda Mexican Grill

Our Story

La Hacienda was born from heritage, sacrifice, and a dream.

Our parents are descendants of the Tarascan (Purépecha) Indigenous people from Michoacán, Mexico. When they immigrated to the United States, they carried with them a deep love for their culture, traditions, and food. In 2003, they achieved the American dream by opening La Hacienda—created to share authentic flavors and meaningful experiences with the Victoria, Texas community.

From the very beginning, La Hacienda brought something truly unique to Victoria. Our family introduced our now-famous Tarasca sauce, a recipe rooted in Tarascan heritage, helped elevate the local dining scene by introducing top-shelf tequila, and became the first Mexican restaurant in Victoria to offer a patio—creating a space where food, family, and community could come together.

In 2017, our family experienced a heartbreaking loss when our father passed away suddenly at just 43 years old. With heavy hearts but strong determination, we—his children—stepped in to carry on his vision. In 2023, we faced another devastating loss with the passing of our sister. During those unimaginable moments, our community surrounded us with love and support, reminding us why La Hacienda exists.

Today, La Hacienda stands as more than a restaurant. It is a living legacy built on resilience, culture, and gratitude. Every dish tells a story, every table holds a memory, and every guest is welcomed like family. We are honored to continue serving the community that has supported us for over two decades—and that continues to keep our story alive.
